Special Steel Grades

Shipbuilding and Offshore Steels

Ordinary strength steels including Gr A, Gr B , Gr D and Gr E and high yield strength steels including AH/DH 32, AH/DH 36, AH/DH 40, EH 32, EH 36, Gost A 40 S, Gost A 40 D, S355G1+N / +M, S355G4+N / +M, S355G11+N / +M,  S355G12+N / +M, S420G3+M, S420G4+M, S460G3+M, S460G4+M, S275NL, S275ML, S355NL, S355ML with Charpy impact testing at different temperatures.

They can be supplied as rolled, normalized  and thermomechanical rolled condition.

Special Boron Steels

Boron grades are medium carbon steels with added boron.

These steels have a good hardenability. They are ideal for application where hardening is crucial for consistent wear performance.

QT Steels

41Cr4, 42CrMo4, 25CrMo4, 50CrMo4, 4340 H grades.  Alloyed and unalloyed steels with over 0.25% carbon, fine grain treated and sulphur added on demand.

Advantages:  
Definite mechanical properties because of small analysis gaps 
 High degree of purity  
 Vacuum-degassed   
 Quenched and tempered steels can be used in a wide range of automotive industry as crankshafts, pistons.

Spring Steels

Spring steels are suitable for manufacturing spring because of their elastic deformability properties in quenched and tempered condition.  

These type of steels have high carbon content, including 55Cr3, 56Si7, 51CrV4 grades.

Free Cutting Steels

These steels have good machinability properties with sulphur addition.

Advantages:  
 Good chip brittleness 
 Good machined surface quality
 Long tool life

Case Hardening Steels

Case hardening steels are intended for carburizing or carbonitriding and subsequent hardening.  

Relatively low carbon steels including C10E, 16MnCr5, 20MnCr5, 18CrNiMo7-6, 8620 H grades.

Vacuum-degassing process is applied to these steels to obtain high degree of micro cleanliness.

Extra High Strength Steels

These steels are delivered as normalized or thermomechanical rolled condition.

Advantages:  
 Weldability 
 High yield strength 
 Good toughness at cold condition because of fine grain microstructure

Pressure Vessel Steels

Pressure vessel and boiler quality steel are commonly used by onshore and offshore oil industry, petrochemical industry and gas production industry. 

Railway Steels

R260, R320Cr steels are used in railway applications. Also Özkan specific grade OZM1200 is widely used by our customers.

Advantages:  
 High wear resistance by high level of carbon content 
 Vacuum degassed steel to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.

Mining Steels

These steels have relatively high manganese content to obtain strength and impact toughness.

Advantages: 
 Al killed steels to prevent inclusions, V alloyed steels to obtain high yield strength and toughness
 Vacuum degassed upon request.

Weathering Steels

Also referred to as Atmospheric Corrosion Resistant Steel, this product is an inexpensive and highly effective material to be used in structural applications exposed to the atmospheric elements.  The steel oxidises with pollutants in the air, forming a thick layer of rust. This formation acts as a protective layer, which prevents the steel from corroding. The layer constantly regenerates and forms over time.  Weathering steel is, therefore, classed as a 'self–protecting' steel. In normal use, the material does not need painting or other external treatment of any kind.

Weather resistant steel can be used in a wide range of structural applications. It is a commonly used product in bridge construction because of the lack of maintenance costs. It is also popular in modern architecture, where the aesthetically pleasing finish is in great demand for sculptural buildings and fascia.

Structural Steels

High tensile strength and yield strength steels, including S235, S275 and S355, with Charpy impact testing at different temperatures.

High yield and high strength and can be supplied as rolled, normalized, and thermomechanical rolled condition.
