The surface is checked for any cracks,burr, layers, notches and corner defects.

As per Billet square the material is controlled as per given and required tolerances with calipers and measures for length control. The straightness and diagonally (deviance) of the billet are controlled.

For the chemical analysis, samples are taken from a billet chosen from each Heat number.

In order to achieve realistic analysis results, the surface of the sample is grinded and sanded.

By means of the ARL spectrometer chemical composition test analysis, the quality of the billet is examined. All controls carried out on the raw material sample are reported.
